Barry Keoghan recalls the ‘weird’ moment he told Angelina Jolie she reminds him of his granny

Barry Keoghan has revealed he told his Eternals co-star Angelina Jolie that she reminds him of his grandmother.

The Irish actor plays Druig in the new Marvel film, which also stars Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, and Kit Harington.

Speaking on The Six O’Clock Show, the Dublin native laughed as he recalled telling Angelina she reminded him of his Irish nanny Patricia.

Barry explained: “I think I meant maternal. Her and Salma on set were very very maternal.”

“She had that feel, and looked after everyone.”

The 29-year-old joked it was “so weird” that he compared her to his 87-year-old granny.

Barry was raised by his nanny Patricia and aunt Lorraine, after his mother passed away when he was just 12-years-old.

Last year, Angelina said it was an “honour” to be a “mother figure” to Barry on the set of their new Marvel movie.

The Hollywood star said: “He’s wonderful, he’s really wonderful. We worked together on Eternals and he is so talented. You know, he’s very unique and that’s a fun thing to see these days.”

“When you meet certain people…there’s a lot of people who can do good work but when strong, unique personalities come forward and they have their own, something that you haven’t seen before. It’s really exciting, it’s fun to see.”
