Barry Keoghan has issued a statement surrounding the rumoured reasons behind his reported “break-up” with Sabrina Carpenter.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan are reportedly “on a break” from their year-long relationship.
The Irish actor was first linked to the American singer last December when they were papped out for dinner together in Los Angeles.

In a statement posted to X, Barry responded to his “name being dragged across the internet.”
He wrote: “‘I can only sit and take so much. My name has been dragged across the internet in ways I usually don’t respond too.”
“I have to respond now because it’s gettin to a place where there are too many lines being crossed. I deactivated my account because I can no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work. The messages I have received no person should ever have to read them. Absolute lies, hatred, disgusting commentary about my appearance, character, how I am as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine.”
“Dragging my character and everything I worked extremely hard for and stand for. Talking about how I was a heroine baby and how I grew up and dragging my dear mother into it also,” he continued.
“Knocking on my grannies door. Sitting outside my baby boys house intimidating them. Thats crossing a line.”
“Each and every day I work harder to push myself on every level to be the healthiest and strongest person for that boy. I want to provide opportunities for him to learn, fail and grow.”
“I want him to be able to look up to his daddy, to have full trust in me and know I will have his back no matter what.”
“I need you to remember he has to read ALL of this about his father when he is older. Please be respectful to all. Thank u x”
Barry Keoghan had deactivated his Instagram amid rumours he has “split” from Sabrina Carpenter.
The 32-year-old Saltburn star was active on social media, using the name @keoghan92, although he noticeably only followed his singing “ex-girlfriend”, 25-year-old Sabrina.
On Friday, Barry posted photos on Instagram of his toned arms in a teal green jumper vest posing in front of a mirror.

The Irish celebrity shared a second picture of himself wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet with the face shield up.
He had flaunted his freshly coloured blonde hair in his first post since it was reported that the couple had “broken up” after a year of dating.
However, hours later, his Instagram account was taken down, suggesting that the actor withdrew from social media as his relationship reportedly broke down.

A source has now confirmed to PEOPLE, that the couple have ended their relationship for now.
The insider said: “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break.”
The Oscar-nominated actor and the “Espresso” hitmaker first met last September when they crossed paths at a Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week.
Since then, they have been seen encouraging one another in various endeavours and on social media, where Barry frequently leaves cheeky remarks on Sabrina’s Instagram pictures.
This past April, the Saltburn star attended his then-girlfriend’s Coachella performance and even appeared in her music video for “Please Please Please” in June.
However, rumours began circulating that the pair had split in early August, eight months after they were first linked.
Taking to Instagram, the “Gossip Girl” DeuxMoi shared a message which read: “Sabrina and Barry broke up.”
The Sun later reported that the pair split weeks ago due to the Irish star’s alleged partying.
A source told the publication: “Barry acts like an idiot when he is drunk, and Sabrina was getting increasingly frustrated.”
“He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She is soaring in the charts and is putting herself first as she gears up for her tour next month.”
However, Barry continued to squash rumours as he was spotted supporting Sabrina Carpenter on her tour.

Last month, while speaking on The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham, Barry gushed over Sabrina’s accomplishments.
“I’m really, really happy for her. I gotta get on the phone soon. Don’t put me on the spot lads…I don’t know anyone who works as hard.”
“I’m in awe of her, watching her work and her committed and the standards that she sets, you know, especially being on that, that music video,” he said in reference to his appearence on the set of Please, Please, Please.
“Just, you know, she knows the vision, she knows what she wants.”
