Aoife Walsh on her role as Miss Ireland Judge: 'I know what it takes to handle the pressure of Miss World'

Former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh is going on the other side of the judging table for this year’s competition and has opened up about what she’s looking for in Ireland’s next beauty queen.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie, the flame-haired beauty, who competed in Miss World in 2012, revealed she understands the pressures of the contestant and what it takes to be the next pageant winner.

“It is very hard but as I said I will be quite firm but fair [judge],” she said.

“I think I have an idea of what to look for and what it takes to be a good Miss Ireland.

“Also in terms of Miss World as well and what it takes to be able to handle the pressures of Miss World and to be a good representative and ambassador at Miss World for your country. Those are the qualities I look for, ” she told Goss.ie.

Opening up about her time at the famed beauty pageant, the Tipperary beauty revealed she’s still in touch with her fellow beauty queens admitting they’re still there for each other.

“We’re all on a whatsapp group, they recently wished me a Happy Birthday funnily enough – it’s crazy to think two years later you’re still in touch with girls you shared the experience with,” she divulged.

“It’s absolutely fantastic, a very unique experience we shared so that has bonded us in some way and one of my friends, Miss World USA just won Miss Universe USA, which is such a massive deal in the States for her.

“I just sent my congratulations to her, it was great for us to all band together to congratulate one of our Miss World sisters,” she added.
