Aoibhin Garrihy has expressed the importance of taking a step back from social media to spend quality time with your loved ones.
Speaking on Three Ireland’s It’s Good To Talk Show in the run up to World Mental Health Day, Aoibhin explained that she and her husband put their phones away every evening in order to spend quality time together.
“I think it’s important to disconnect in order to reconnect and to give yourself some time and to set boundaries,” she said, according to The Irish Sun.
“Myself and my husband John, we would have a cut off time in the evening, otherwise we just wouldn’t engage with each other and that’s just not healthy.”
The actress explained that while she has cultivated a huge social media following, she does not feel the pressure to accumulate likes online.
“You can be stressing, but actually no one cares because everyone is so focused on themselves,” she said.
“If we change the word to duck, no one gives a duck about you.”
The current mum of one is expecting her second child in December.
