Mark Cagney is reportedly set to retire from Ireland AM next year, after 20 years hosting the TV3 show.

The 61-year-old has presented the morning show since it launched back in 1999, however it looks like the broadcaster is set to say goodbye to the show’s viewers in 2019.

A source told The Irish Mail on Sunday, “Mark [Cagney] is due to hang up his mic next year, so they are planning to revamp the show.”

Over two decades, Mark has hosted the show alongside the likes of Alan Hughes, Grainne Seoige, Amanda Byram, and Sinead Desmond.

The news of Mark’s upcoming departure comes after Sinead Desmond announced her departure from the show back in November over an alleged pay dispute.

Since Sinead’s departure, Ciara Doherty has been filling in as the show’s female anchor, and it’s believe she’ll become a permanent fixture on the show.
