Stylist Angela Scanlon has admitted she has “big shoes to fill” when she takes over from Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain on Getaways.
The TV presenter – who has been tipped as one to watch by Vogue magazine – will front the next series after Ryan Tubridy’s girlfriend quit to focus on academic studies.
Now speaking for the first time since being picked by RTE for the role, Angela told Goss.ie it won’t be too easy going.
She’s got away: Aoibhinn has quit Getaways for her studies
“I met Aoibhinn briefly and I’ve definitely got big shoes to fill – but its been fun,” she said.
“I came back from San Francisco and it was a beautiful city, just beautiful. I hadn’t been there for a million years – so it was nice to go back and it was a nice thing to start off on.”
But Angela will be extremely busy this summer – as she tries to fit in getting married along with filming four documentaries for RTE.

She said: “I’m filming Getaways then for the summer and also working on four documentaries for a series that’s due out on RTE Two in September or October, in the Autumn. I’m busy.”
Meanwhile Angela, who is best friends with Niall Horan and Laura Whitmore, has been designing her own jewelry collection for Pandora’s #MyRingsMyStyle.
And Angela decided to apply her own fashion rule to the project – that there is no rules.

“There’s a few people involved including myself and Jameela Jamil. And we were asked to create and design a ring stack using our favourite Pandora jewelry,” she said.
“My own design is a mix because people always ask, ‘I like silver but I also like gold, can you put them together?’ And I’m not really into rules – especially where fashion is concerned.
“So I thought I’m going to practice what I preach and mix the two of them up. Because I’m normally a fiend for gold so I stretched a little out of my comfort zone with silver.”
