Angela Scanlon has been announced as the new host of BBC’s The One Show, while Alex Jones is on maternity leave.
The popular daily show, which is hosted by Alex Jones and Matt Baker, has enlisted the help of Irish beauty Angela, as well as Michelle Ackerley.
Michelle will take over presenting duties on Mondays and Tuesdays, while Angela will cover Thursdays and Fridays, and the pair will alternate for the Wednesday episode.
Angela took to Twitter to announce the happy news today, and admitted that she was “chuffed”.

Angela has worked on The One Show before, having produced and presented films – and she is, naturally, thrilled to be working with the show once again.
“I’m over the moon to get the chance to present one of my favourite shows on TV and I’m thrilled to be looking after Alex’s spot on the green sofa while she is away. I have always been a massive fan of The One Show and love being part of that wonderful family, so I really can’t wait to get started,” Angela said, according to the BBC.
