Andrea Corr opens up about having five ‘devastating’ miscarriages

Andrea Corr has opened up about having five miscarriages in her bid to become a mother.

The Corrs singer explained that it was a very “lonely” time in her life.

Speaking on This Morning, Andrea hoped to raise awareness of pregnancy loss and fertility issues, as she explained that she told very few people about her lost pregnancies.

She told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: “It’s too big a part of my own spiritual evolution to exclude from my memoir.”

“I had five miscarriages. The first two were the most devastating as I didn’t have Jean and Brett then,” she said, mentioning her sons.

“And I didn’t know if I’d ever be a mother.”

“It is a very lonely place to be… nobody knows about what is not visibly there.”

Andrea told the Daily Mail’s You Magazine that she was afraid she would never be able to become a mother.

“Every time I’d feel so sad for a life that wasn’t there any more and also really frightened that this was it. That I’d always miscarry,” she told the mag.

She also opened up about her miscarriage experiences on The Late Late Show.

Andrea has since welcomed two children with husband Brett Desmond.
