Amy Huberman’s cheating co-star Rory Keenan is actually her EX in real life

Amy Huberman’s cheating co-star Rory Keenan is actually her ex in real life, as the pair reportedly dated when she was just 21.

The pair currently star in RTÉ’s Striking Out, in which Amy plays the role of solicitor Tara Rafferty, who finds her husband-to-be Eric (Rory) in bed with another woman on the night of her hen.

However, it has now been revealed that Amy and Rory actually used to date in real life, after first meeting on RTE’s GAA drama series On Home Ground back in 2001.

A source told the Herald, “Amy and Rory used to date many years ago, when she was about 21, and they went out for about six months before they both moved on.

“It probably made filming a bit easier as she already knew him, but there was no awkwardness there whatsoever as it was so long ago. The Irish acting world is so small that everyone kind of knows everyone,” they added.

Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment recently, Rory admitted that it was great to catch up with Amy again, as the pair also worked together on The Clinic – which was Amy’s first major TV role.

“I hadn’t seen her in a long time. I’ve been living in London for the last seven years so I wouldn’t have seen her out and about much. It was really good to reconnect and have a laugh, and it was a laugh”, he said.

So far, Amy’s new drama series Striking Out has gone down a hit with viewers, as the first episode raked in 464,000 viewers, with the second episode attracting a larger number of 544,000.
