Al Porter up for HUGE award at Edinburgh Comedy Awards

Al Porter has been nominated for Best Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards this year.

The comedian’s show At Large is up against some tough competition at the awards which are commonly known as the “the comedy Oscars.”

The Tallaght native said he was “so surprised and thrilled” to be nominated.

The 23-year-old’s show has been enjoyed by other major comedians including Jack Dee, Seann Walsh and Steve Coogan.

“I’ve been having a ball with audiences of all ages over here in Edinburgh,” he told RTE Entertainment.

“To be nominated for this award like my heroes Tommy Tiernan and Dylan Moran were before, is just surreal.

“I’m definitely expecting a free pint in my local The Dragon in Tallaght now.”

The At Large show returns to Ireland next month and kicks off in Vicar Street in Dublin on September 9th before travelling around the country.
