Aidan O’Mahony said that he wants to bring the Dancing With The Stars glitterball trophy home for his baby daughter.

The GAA star became a father for the first time this week, when his wife Denise Healy gave birth to their daughter Lucia last Thursday.

The DWTS celeb said that becoming a father has made him want to win the RTÉ show more than ever.

The GAA star also admitted that he had “an emotional week” and even “shed a few tears” leaving his new daughter for dance rehearsals.

He added, “It was a special week for us. I’m the baby of my family so to see my own mum, who is 78, meet her baby’s baby was a real moment. It’s taken years off her life.”

Aidan will battle it out against remaining contestants Dayl Cronin, Aoibhin Garrihy and Denise McCormack during Sunday’s semi-final.
