Aidan O’Mahony on Dayl Cronin: ‘I would have given him my spot in the DWTS final’

Aidan O’Mahony has revealed that he would have given Dayl Cronin his spot in the Dancing With The Stars final.

The GAA star took home the glitterball in last night’s final – and some people were not very happy with that result.

Dayl Cronin was very upset about being booted off the show a few weeks ago, and Aidan said that he would have given him his spot in the final.

“I would have given him my spot in the final. It’s an entertainment show at the end of the day. I said to him, ‘you’ve your name made, for me it wasn’t about me making my name. For me it was just about getting through the weeks.”

He continued to tell The Nicky Byrne Show with Jenny Greene on 2fm, “I said ‘Dayl you’ve your name made. Everyone loves you, the public love you more now. You’re good at everything like, you’ve your name made.’ For me it’s about going home.”

The Kerry footballer then spoke about the comments on social media following Dayl’s exit from the show.

“I felt like the panto villian, because he’s a young lad and he’s fantastic, but from my side I came from nothing. I came from no dancing or no experience of acting or anything like that.”
