Adele and Garth Brooks set to play Pairc Ui Chaoimhe in 2017

The Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Des Cahill has opened up about the rumours that Adele and Garth Brooks are to play in the city.

Garth Brooks was set to play Dublin’s Croke Park in 2014 but had to cancel his gigs and has since kept teasing us with a concert.

Now he might actually be playing on Irish soil if plans go ahead for his Cork gigs.

Cllr. Des admitted that although the concerts have yet to be confirmed by both Adele’s and Garth’s management, he thinks the speculation around their gigs in 2017 is a huge boost for Cork.

“Although the concerts have yet to be officially confirmed the speculation that two blockbuster gigs are in the pipeline for the new Cork stadium in the summer of 2017 is a huge boost,” he revealed on Neil Prendeville’s show on Cork’s Red FM.

“The speculation that we could be welcoming Garth Brooks and Adele to Leeside next summer is outstanding news for Cork.”
