Lena Dunham is having serious banter with Niall Horan

Girls creator and star Lena Dunham has rewritten a One Direction song after Niall Horan complimented her show.

Taking to Twitter, the 22-year-old shared with his 24.8million followers to say how much he loved her HBO series.

“@girlsHBO absolutely hilarious. Love your work,” he wrote.

Catching the eye of Lena after it amassed over 100,000 retweets, the actress returned the compliment three days later on her Instagram.

Using her renowned humour, the American star adapted the lyrics of One Direction’s hit song Perfect to suit her girls character Hannah.

“But if you like having panic attacks up in hotel rooms. And if you like a lot of complex fear stuff around men and sex,” Lena quipped.
