Una Healy admits: 'Ben converted to Catholicism for me before our wedding'

Una Healy has revealed her husband Ben Foden converted to Catholicism for their wedding.

The Saturdays singer confessed that her religion means a lot to her and her children  Aoife Belle and  Tadhg will be raised Catholic.

“He (Ben) actually converted to Catholicism – he wasn’t anything until he met me,” Una said.

“He thought it would be nice, so he did it. It’s nice to have a bit of faith – it’s not full on, I’m not one to preach or anything, but I do think it’s important,” she told Irish Country Magazine.

Meanwhile, the Tipperary native revealed being a wife and mother has given her plenty of song writing material for her album.

“All the songs I’ve written have been since I was married and the guy who was producing the album said, ‘Well it’s probably hard to write these days now you’re all loved-up – happily married with two kids.

“And I was looking at him saying, ‘Are you kidding? I’ve more material to write about than ever.

“The ups and downs of relationships, being married, having kids, the chaos at home – it’s definitely as turbulent as it when it’s just like any relationship and has its ups and downs and gives you lots to write about.

“It’s not all plain sailing.”

The Voice of Ireland coach defended herself against rumours of marriage trouble recently after she switched her professiona l name from Una Foden back to Healy.
