Doon with that! Donald Trump calls Doonberg golf resort "small potatoes"

US presidential hopeful Donald Trump has called his Irish golf resort in Clare “small potatoes” – insisting he no longer cares about it.

The property tycoon, who snapped up the Doonbeg golf resort for €15million in 2014, invested heavily in the luxury venue but has lost interest in it.

“I bought it a number of years ago during the downturn in Ireland I made a good investment. It is an incredible place,” he said.

Say that again: Donald referred to his Irish golf course resort as “small potatoes”

“We spent a lot of money on making it just perfecto — and now it’s doing great. But I don’t care about that stuff anymore. It is like small potatoes.”

The idyllic venue has hosted a number of high-profile events including Andrea Corr and Glenda Gilson’s weddings.

Speaking at a televised campaign rally at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, the Republican presidential candidate said he didn’t care anymore about the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel.

“I’ll let my kids run it, but I don’t care about it. I care about making America great again,” he said.
