Princess of Wales returns to official duties following cancer treatment

The Princess of Wales has returned to official duties following her cancer treatment.

On Tuesday, the Princess joined the royals to welcome the Emir of Qatar in London.

Kate accompanied her husband, Prince William, as they treated Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the first of his three wives, Sheikha Jawaher.

The princess is believed to be carrying out more royal duties than expected at today’s state visit, which is being described as a “positive sign” in royal circles.

According to a royal insider, Kate’s participation was “good news,” as the Princess continues to gradually reintegrate into society following the conclusion of her prophylactic chemotherapy treatment.

In March, the Princess of Wales announced that she is undergoing treatment for cancer, which was discovered after she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

In September, the Princess returned to Instagram with a much-awaited update on her treatment – revealing she finished her chemotherapy treatment.

Last month, Kate Middleton joined the other senior Royals at the first major event since she finished chemotherapy.

Kate was supported by her husband, Prince William, as she attended the annual Festival of Remembrance.

The event took place at the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington, London.

The Princess of Wales is also set to attend the Cenotaph where she will carry out official engagements for multiple days in a row for the first time since December.

The royals joined those men and women, and their families to pay tribute to those who died for their country.

Earlier this week, Prince William shared an update on “amazing” Kate and her cancer treatment.

When asked how his wife Kate was doing ahead of the Earthshot Prize presentations in Cape Town, he said: “Thanks, she’s doing pretty well. Hopefully, she’s watching and cheering me tonight.”

“She’s been amazing this whole year and I know she’ll be really keen to see tonight be a success.”

She declared that she had finished her treatment in September and that “staying cancer-free” was now her top priority.

The touching video of Kate and her family released in september revealed that the Princess had completed her chemotherapy treatment.

In the heartfelt message, Kate wrote: “A message from Catherine, The Princess of Wales.”

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.”

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”

She continued: “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

“Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”

“I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”

“Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”

“William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.”

“To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light so let that light shine bright.”
