A number of countries in the British Commonwealth were affected by Hurricane Beryl.

King Charles III also issued a statement regarding the hurricane sharing condolences for those impacted by its devastation.

The statement read: “My family and I have been profoundly saddened to learn of the dreadful destruction caused by Hurricane Beryl across the Caribbean.”

“Above all, we send our heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of those who have so cruelly lost their lives.”

“I have seen the extraordinary spirit of resilience and solidarity that people across the Caribbean have shown in response to such destruction — a spirit which has been called upon too often”

“— and so I also send my particular gratitude to the emergency services and volunteers who are supporting the rescue and recovery efforts.”

“At this most difficult of times, please know that our most special thoughts and prayers are with all those whose lives, livelihoods and property have been so utterly devastated.”

The hurricane was the first major storm to hit Jamaica since 2007.

The Princess of Wales stepped away from public work following an announcement that she is undergoing treatment for cancer, which was discovered after she underwent abdominal surgery in January.

Last month, the Princess returned to social media to give an update on her cancer treatment ahead of her return to work at the monarch’s Trooping the Colour.

The 42-year-old joined the rest of the Royal Family at ceremony last month as she made her public return.

The mother-of-three joined King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince William and the other royals on Buckingham Palace’s balcony for the RAF flypast.

The Trooping is held every year as an official birthday event for the monarch, even though Charles’s actual birthday is on November 14 – becoming an annual event from 1760.

The princess was spotted in the Royal carriage with her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis on the way to Buckingham palace.

This was the first time she had been seen in public since she announced her diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales was then spotted with her son, Louis, taking a peek at the Horse Guards Parade ceremony from a window during celebration.

She was then joined by the rest of her children for the ending of the parade.

Kate made her anticipated return when she joined the rest of the royal family on the balcony at Buckingham palace.
