Prince Harry and Meghan Markle break their silence after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have broken their silence after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex briefly lived in the five-bed Windsor home, which the late Queen Elizabeth II gifted to them, after getting married.

According to Page Six, King Charles III began the eviction process back in January, just one day after his son’s bombshell memoir Spare was released.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan has since confirmed the couple were asked to “vacate” Frogmore Cottage.

They said: “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”

It has been reported that the property has been offered to Prince Andrew, who was recently “evicted” from Buckingham Palace.

According to The UK Sun, the Duke of York was told he could no longer use the royal landmark as an office space at the end of last year.

A source previously told the publication: “Any presence at the Palace is officially over. The King has made it clear. He isn’t a working royal. He’s on his own.”

It is understood that the King’s brother remains “resolute” he wants to stay at the nearby Royal Lodge instead of Frogmore Cottage – which he shares with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

The insider added: “Andrew is resisting the idea of moving into Frogmore Cottage after he was offered it last week. But it shows Harry and Meghan are powerless to stop the eviction.”

The publication has also reported that Meghan and Harry have not been offered another property on the estate, meaning they no longer have a home in the UK.

The couple are reportedly organising the shipment of the remainder of their possessions to the US.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Canada after stepping down from their roles as senior working members of the Royal Family, before moving to the US.

They currently live in Montecito, California with their two children – Archie, 3, and Lilibet Diana, 1.
