Meghan Markle makes ‘very brave’ request of King Charles III

Meghan Markle has reportedly made a “very brave” request of King Charles III.

The Duchess of Sussex allegedly requested a “one-to-one” meeting with the new monarch to heal the existing rifts between them before departing the UK.

The 41-year-old and her husband Prince Harry had been visiting the UK and reportedly had no intentions of meeting up with the Royal Family when Queen Elizabeth II sadly passed away, prolonging their stay.

Royal expert Neil Sean claims he heard from a “very good source” that Meghan sent a letter requesting a private conversation with King Charles III.

The journalist reported that the actress wants to “clear the air” with her father-in-law before the couple return to California to reunite with their toddlers.

“She’d now like before they return back to California to have a one-to-one audience with King Charles III,” Neil said in a video posted to his YouTube channel.

“That’s right—Meghan one-to-one with King Charles. You heard correct,” Neil continued. “It’s a very brave move from Meghan herself.”

“It would be an opportunity to clear the air, pull the rights from wrongs and explain some of the rationale behind what they’ve been doing over the last two years.”

“Now, you know, you have to admire Meghan’s self-belief, whatever you think. Truthfully, we have no idea if this is going to go forward.”

Neil continued that it is customary to request the King’s presence through a letter.

“This is how you write to the King through his equity, and of course that’s passed on.”

Upon their return to the UK, Meghan and Harry were seen publicly with Prince William and Kate Middleton for the first time since March 2020, amid rumours of an ongoing rift between the two brothers.

Kensington Palace claimed William, who has since adopted the title of the Prince of Wales, invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and his wife, who is now known as the Princess of Wales, at Windsor in an attempt to put on a united front.

In recent years there has been some evident tension between William and Harry and their respective wives, as they have become increasingly distant in both their personal and professional lives.

The two couples have not been seen together since the Commonwealth Service in Westminster Abbey in March 2020, which was held three months after Harry and Meghan announced their plans to resign as senior working members of the Royal Family.

A couple of days after this, Harry and Meghan moved to California, where they now reside with their son Archie, 3, and daughter, Lilibet, 1.

A royal insider recently claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales struck a “truce” with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but all trust is “gone”.

The source told The Telegraph: “It’s really hard to spend time with someone, or even to speak openly, when you know they’re writing a book about you and giving interviews. The trust is gone right now.”

William and Kate awkwardly sat away from Harry and Meghan at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving back in June.

Upon their arrival, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took their seats on the right-hand side of St. Paul’s Cathedral, sitting beside Princess Anne, King Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat on the opposite side of the cathedral, beside Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

Prince Harry and Prince William have been seen together a couple of times since the Duke of Sussex moved to America.

In April 2021, the brothers reunited to attend the funeral of their grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Less than three months later, they publicly appeared together again in July 2021, as they unveiled a statue of their late mother, Princess Diana, commemorating what would have been her 60th birthday.
