Kate Middleton broke from tradition with her Mother’s Day post this year, one year after her photo editing mishap.
While the Princess of Wales typically marks this special day by sharing a photo of her and Prince William’s children, she opted for something different this year.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday morning, the mother-of-three shared a nature video montage, featuring shots of her and William in Norfolk last summer.
She captioned the post: “Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary.”
“This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life. C
On Mother’s Day last year, Kate posted an image of herself smiling as she posed with with her three children, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.
The photo was taken by Prince William, however, the snap stirred up some controversy after it was revealed that it had been edited.

Several of the world’s biggest international photo agencies said the photograph issued of Kate and her three children had been “manipulated”.
The Associated Press (AP) Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Getty Images all separately issued a “kill notice” to media organisations around the globe, confirming they had each deleted the image from their individual libraries.
The photo was the first official picture released of the Princess since she underwent “abdominal surgery” that January, and reports that it had been “manipulated” sparked nasty rumours about Kate, and conspiracy theories about her whereabouts.
However, the mother-of-three then released a statement blaming her own “experiment with editing”.
At the time, she wrote: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”
Weeks after the photo mishap, Kate shocked the world when she announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
The Princess underwent treatment for months, and revealed she was officially in remission back in January.
