Kate Middleton and Prince William had an awkward run-in with the his ex-girlfriend

Kate Middleton and Prince William had an unfortunate run in with one of the prince’s ex-girlfriends.

The couple, who have been married for seven years, started dating in college and an extremely awkward moment the pair had with one of the 36-year-old’s ex’s has now been revealed.

Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, Katie Nicholl, wrote about their romance, including their encounter with one of the father-of-three’s exes, in her book ‘The Making of a Royal Romance.’

The journalist revealed the awkward run-in as she said the couple attended the same dinner party as the prince’s ex, Carly Massy-Birch; but they had yet to publicly confirm their relationship.

At the party the attendees played the game ‘Never Have I Ever’ and Carly took a shot at her ex and Kate.

A party guest said: “When it was Carly’s turn to play she announced, ‘I’ve never dated two people in this room,’ knowing full well that William was the only one who had because Kate was sitting next to him.”

According to the source, William “shot a thunderous look” at Carly and whispered under his breath: “I can’t believe you just said that.”

Despite the uncomfortable encounter, this was when Kate and Prince William made their relationship official to their friends and the source said: “We knew they were together but it was the first time William confirmed his and Kate’s relationship in public.”
