Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, otherwise known as Baby Sussex, is set to be christened on June 6th.
Archie is set to join the Church of England at the private chapel at Windsor Castle in front of a small audience of chosen guests.
There has been much speculation regarding who will act as godparents to the new arrival.
According to reports, Jessica Mulroney, who is a stylist and one of Meghan’s closest friends, is a firm favourite for the role.
Along with Jessica, Prince Harry’s close friend Charlie Van Straubenzee is also tipped to act as godparent. Prince Harry stood as his best man during executive’s wedding last summer.
“Jessica Mulroney and Charlie Van Straubenzee are seemingly nailed on to be Archie’s godparents but we wouldn’t be surprised to see some famous faces given the honour,” Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told The Daily Mail newspaper.
George and Amal Clooney were previously rumoured to act as godparents to the min i monarch.
However, George shut down speculation by telling Extra: “Everybody loves their rumours. It’s not true. You don’t want me to be a godparent of anybody.”
“I’m barely a parent at this point. It’s frightening,” he laughed.
