It had been rumorued that Derek Mooney was set to leave RTE radio but now insiders have revealed he is staying put.
With speculation that Miriam O’Callaghan and Ryan Tubridy are both set to move to Radio 1, there were reports Derek was leaving the station.
“What you have heard are just rumours,” an insider said.

“However, I do know that Derek Mooney has been pitching to RTE to set up a natural history unit which he would run,” a source told the Sunday World.
The news comes after Miriam O’Callaghan hinted to Goss.ie that she WILL be moving to Radio 1.
