Ryan Tubridy is on his 'last legs' in 2FM after losing more listeners

Tough-talking Niall Boylan has claimed Ryan Tubridy is “on his last legs” in 2FM after losing even more listeners.

The 2FM presenter was disappointed to discover he was down yet another 4,000 people – leaving him with just 144,000 tuning into his morning show.

Now 4FM’s Niall Boylan – who insists he is “better than Tubridy” – has insisted that Tubs doesn’t have long left in his role.

Tough-talking: Niall says it’s time for Tubs to go | 4FM

“I think Ryan Tubridy is on his last legs because I don’t think 2FM will continue to watch his listenership figures slide,” he said.

“I don’t think he suits that role or station. He suits a more mature audience.”

And Niall – whose show Goss.ie appears on every Friday afternoon – admits it annoys him that the Late Late Show continues to pick €495,000 as he loses listeners.

Pals: Tubs and Gerry Ryan before his death

“It does annoy me that Tubridy has gone down again and he’s still there despite saying he would go after two years if things didn’t improve,” he told the Star.

“It’s a bit of a poisoned chalice anyway with the time-slot and filling Gerry Ryan’s shoes, which no-one ever could.

“But you can’t justify massive salaries to people who aren’t performing.”
