Radio star Ray D’Arcy has revealed his way of healthily limbering into his 50s – he’s taken up yoga.
The Today FM host, 49, said it has “changed his life” after doing two sessions of it a week after his show airs.
Avid-runner Ray said he made the decision over fears he would have to give up his beloved hobby given parts of his body “weren’t working as well as I would have liked.”
“I started doing yoga recently – and I know this is going to sound a bit cliched – but it has changed my life,” he said.

“I was beginning to feel, coming up to the 50th, that I would have to give up running, as parts of me weren’t working as well as I would have liked.
“I was going to my physio once a year and she would send me off with all these stretches to do. But, as you can imagine, I never really got around to doing them.
“The days just got busier and I found excuses not to stretch. I can’t blame the physio. Now, I work in one or two sessions of yoga a week at lunchtime and have found that the stretching is working wonders for my body.”
And Ray told Irish Runner that he can “get a bit tetchy” if he doesn’t go for a run of between eight and 10 miles on weekends.

He has even been looking into better ways of running – and bizarrely tried out barefooted running for the first time on his wedding day to Jenny Kelly.
“It was an early Saturday morning. I was running down a country road when I spotted a GAA pitch,” he said.
“I veered into it and took off my shoes. After a few minutes running barefoot on the dewy grass, I felt absolutely elated.
“Although, that could have been something to do with the fact that I was getting married that day.”
It comes after Ray revealed he is considering getting a vasectomy live on air.
