Presenters Jim Nugent and Mark Noble aka Jim Jim and Nobby have come under fire after a “racist” Love/Hate skit.
The radio hosts did a skit on their popular breakfast show Strawberry Alarm Clock where they referred to pipe bomb maker Patrick in Love/Hate as “the traveller character”.
Love/Hate star John Connors, who plays traveller Patrick in the show and is a real life settled traveler was sickened by the clip.

Posting publicly on Jim Jim’s Facebook page, John said he is going to take legal action and demanded an apology.
“I have a few interviews lined up and an appointment with a very confident solicitor,” John wrote.
“I want it removed and I want an on air apology to the whole travelling community and a direct letter of apology to me so that i can frame it up in my cabin in my ‘Traveller’ camp,” he added.

Meanwhile Sarah Jane Dunne, who was the first traveller contestant to make the final of Miss Ireland, also demanded the link be deleted.
“This excuse for comedy should be taken down. You are blatantly discriminating against actor John Connors and the Travelling community.
“You only refer to John’s character as ‘Traveller character’, state that he was held back 5 years in primary school and while you mimic the other characters voices,” she said.
“With this ‘Traveller character’ you just put on the most stereotypical ‘Traveller accent’. This ‘comedy sketch’ reinforces negative stereotypes of the Travelling community.

“Only last week I presented the National Educational Achievement Awards for members of the Travelling Community.
“We worked to highlight the progression that Travellers are making from second level up to third level education, steering away from this ‘uneducated’ stereotype.
“Then we have brainless sketches like this trying to drag people down with your insensitive stereotypes,” she added.

Dublin Wives star Danielle Meagher also took to Twitter blasting the skit.
Speaking to Goss.ie Danielle confirmed both she and Sarah Jane have made an official complaint to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).
Goss.ie have contacted FM104 for comment.
