Larry Gogan has no plans on retiring until he is at least 90 – and believes he is still YOUNG

2FM legend Larry Gogan has revealed that he doesn’t see himself retiring from radio until he is at least 90.

The 76-year-old radio host said that he is “going to keep going until someone tells me to stop”.

And the Golden Hour host also claimed that he is still young within the media industry compared to other hosts.

“One of the most popular weekend programmes in the UK is Sound of the 60s on Radio 2 and that’s presented by Brian Matthews who is 85,” he said.

“And Nicholas Parsons – remember he did Sale of the Century years ago? He still does a show on the BBC and he’s 90. So there’s hope for me yet.

“I’m only a young fella in comparison to them. I love what I do and I don’t know what else I’d do if I didn’t do this,” he said.

Larry presents the Golden Hour show every weekend and also revealed what the secret is to maintaining a large listenership.

He added: “People will keep listening if you’re playing what they want to hear.”
