2FM’s boss Dan Healy has warned under-performing presenters at the station: I will axe you tomorrow.
The tough-talking RTE head insists that he’s happy with the shows at the moment, including Nicky Byrne and Jennifer Maguire’s new programmes.
But now everyone – from Ryan Tubridy to Nicky – will be booted off air if the shows stop “working.”
“All the new shows have had three months to find their feet, like anyone in a new job. For the first three months, you have to stay away from them,” he said.

“Then you get involved. So now, if a show isn’t working, we’d call it immediately. We’d have to deal with that – we couldn’t afford to wait. But at the moment we’re more than happy.”
It comes as Voice of Ireland presenter Eoghan McDermott has been given a new weekend show.

But Dan insisted they don’t just favour young people after sidelining Larry Gogan and Dave Fanning.
He told the “We needed a new breakfast show, and we believed we needed a show like Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene’s to draw in women, and late night is about recruiting new talent.”
