Hector O’hEochagain has returned to radio, warming up for Anton Savage in Ray D’Arcy’s old slot on Today FM.
While Anton has been announced as Ray’s official replacement, Hector is taking over the hot seat in the mean time.
The radio presenter was famously “axed” by RTE 2fm director Dan Healy and has since vowed never to return to the station that made him a star.

Speaking on his Today FM show for the first time this morning, the 44-year-old revealed he is delighted to be back on the airwaves at his new station.
“It’s great to be back in the hot seat. I took a year off. It’s like starting a new job.”
He added: “I brought my own mug and a lovely cup of tea and I was walking down Wexford street this morning with a little pep in my step.”
Replacement: Hector is filling in on Ray’s show
The former 2fm star’s return to radio has been highly anticipated ever seen he admitted to being “dumped” by his former employer.
Listeners weren’t too happy when Hector left the station and ratings on new show Breakfast Republic didn’t improve, losing a massive 13,000 listeners.
Hector previously said: “I can say categorically it wasn’t my decision to leave that radio show. A new guy came in to 2FM, he made his decision.

“It certainly wasn’t my decision as we were doing well, revenue wise, and had the most popular show on 2FM for 18-35 years olds.”
