Brian O’Driscoll is understood to have picked up €100,000 to sign on for Newstalk.
The former Irish rugby player has signed a deal to become a presenter with Off The Ball – a massive coup for the station.
Yesterday Goss.ie told how BOD admitted it was an “easy” decision to sign up to the programme, which he will officially join this summer after a trip to America with wife Amy Huberman.

Now Newstalk’s chief executive Gerard Whelan has admitted the deal didn’t involve “the kind of money you would find in your back pocket”.
Last year, Pat Kenny was poached by RTE on a €2million deal, with huge cash also thrown at Brian.
But Whelan added to the Star that Newstalk “would regard any price paid for a global icon of Brian’s stature to be good value”.
The ex-Leinster star will start out on Newstalk from September.
