TXFM played a mix of alternative rock music from classic hits like the Stone Roses to songs from upcoming Irish bands.

“It was a great place for old farts like me to discover new music and a station where you really felt like the DJs cared about music, like music and the stories around it and the minutiae of it really mattered to them,” he told the Irish Sun.

“It made me feel young and it made me feel old and it was a constant companion as I walked and drove around Dublin.

“I don’t want an algorithm on Spotify picking what music I hear,” he added.

“Music is a passion and an addiction not background noise or a lifestyle product. It’s something to be enjoyed but to be taken seriously and TXFM understood that.”
