He said: “I am writing a radio sitcom that I’m currently working on. 2FM haven’t had a sitcom since Mrs Brown’s Boys.

“We have a few episodes done, we have recorded some of them. Rex Ryan and Sorcha Furlong are the leads.

“I am currently reading one of the voices but my role would be recast if it gets commissioned. We have done a few episodes and will see what happens.”

Speaking at the Cannonball launch, Colm also revealed he has been working with model Thalia Heffernan’s dad Gerald to come up with a reality TV show.

He added: “I don’t know if RTE would take a reality TV show. It is a reality TV show about celebrities. I can’t say anything else.

“I am making the reality format with a few to sell it internationally. It won’t be a Tallafornia style thing.”
