Prince Andrew has reportedly expressed regret that he didn’t show sympathy to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims.
The Duke of York’s interview on Newsnight raised many eyebrows, and had led to demands of an apology from those who brought abuse allegations against Epstein.
Many were outraged by his comments in the interview, which aired on Saturday night.
The royal has reportedly told friends that he is not happy with how the interview went.
A source told the MailOnline that Prince Andrew told them:
“I regret that I didn’t make it clear in the interview that I have great sympathy for anyone who was abused by Jeffrey Epstein.”
“When I said I was shocked I thought that was implicit. In 2010 none of us had any idea of the extent of his wrongdoing”
The source continued: “As a father, he totally condemns any exploitation of vulnerable young women.”
“He supports the victims and says that it is right that they now have the opportunity to tell their stories and seek justice.”
