People are not happy about the new Instagram update

Instagram has rolled out a major update, and it’s not sitting well with users.

The update alters a key design feature of the app – the square photos on profiles.

For years, Instagram has cropped photos into squares when viewed on a user’s grid.

But with the latest update, posts now appear as rectangles instead.

Many users are expressing their dissatisfaction with the change, venting their frustration on social media.

These vertical profiles have left many perfectly curated square grids in the past.

One user wrote on X: “I hate this new IG update if they don’t fix it i may actually delete the app srsly.”

Another jokingly posted: “new ig update is so ugly i deactivated my account”

However, one user confessed they didn’t mind the update, writing: “the new ig update didn’t affect my posts at all like”

While others are overlooking this change for other new features with one writing: “The new Instagram update now shows you a little heart tab and lets you click on what ig reels your friends are liking….”
