Rhasidat Adeleke, Sharlene Mawdsley, Sophie Becker, and Phil Healy have placed fourth in the Women’s 4x400m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The team finished in a national record time of 3:19.90, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal at the Stade de France.
This was the first time the Irish women’s relay team made it into the final at the Olympic Games.

Sophie Becker led the team, followed by Rhasidat Adeleke who passed it to Phil Healy and ended with Sharlene Mawdsley – who all put in an incredible performance.
Ireland finished third in their semi-final on Friday, behind Jamacia and Netherlands, to earn a qualifying spot in their first ever Olympic final.
Sophie Becker, Phil Healy, Kelly McGrory and Sharlene Mawdsley completed the race in a time of 3:25.05.
Sharlene Mawdsley led Ireland into the final of the 4x400m relay at the European Athletics Championships in Rome earlier this year.
The Irish women’s 4×400 relay team won a silver medal in the final, finishing just behind the Netherlands.
They set a new Irish record, finishing in a time of 3:22:71.
