The team were without Rhasidat Adeleke as she prepared for her 400m final on Friday evening.

The top three and two fastest non-automatic qualifiers advanced to the final.
Sophie Becker led the team, followed by Phil Healy, passing it to Kelly McGrory and ended with Sharlene Mawdsley.
Sharlene Mawdsley led Ireland into the final of the 4x400m relay at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

The Irish women’s 4 x 400 relay team won a silver medal in the final, finishing just behind the Netherlands.
They set a new Irish record, finishing in a time of 3:22:71.
Sophie Becker led the team off, before handing the baton to Rhasidat Adeleke.
