Christmas toy collection for children in direct provision to take place this weekend

There’s a Christmas toy collection being held for children in direct provision this weekend.

The toy collection will take place in the Panti Bar on Capel Street in Dublin from 4-7pm on Saturday, December 4th.

Donations being accepted include hats and scarves, jigsaws, toy cars, art kits, Lego, sports materials, costumes and colouring books.

Those who wish to donate to the collection are being asked to mark whether the gift is for the aged 0 to 4 years category, the 4 to 8 years category, the 8 to 11 years category, or the 11 to 17 years category.

There are currently 2,617 children in direct provision in Ireland.

If you won’t get a chance to drop in a gift donation, you can donate to directprovision.org.
