Irish X Factor star Chris Leonard has a “big future in the music business” – even if he’s booted off the show this week, his music dad insists.
Stereo Kicks – the eight-piece boyband the Meath lad is a member of – finished in the bottom two on Sunday night and barely scraped through following a split judges vote.
Despite ending up it bottom twice, father Paddy Leonard is still backing his son’s band to win the show.

But he insists that the 19-year-old would happily accept defeat if axed on Sunday.
“Well if it happens, it happens. The X Factor is a singing competition, after all,” he said.
“If Chris and the boys go out due to not getting the votes, of course he will be devastated, but give him a week or two and Chris will dust himself down and go back at it.”

And Paddy – who is a gigging musician – believes that even if he doesn’t win, there’s a lifetime in the music business waiting for Chris.
“Regardless of whether he wins or not, Chris has a big career in music ahead of him,” he told the Irish Sun.
“The X Factor is a launch pad, after all, for so many people, after all.”
