Honey G has revealed she is gay.
The X Factor rapper came out in an interview for the Sun and also posed for a naked photo shoot.
Anna Gilford – aka Honey G, revealed that the reason she didn’t come out during the show was due to her fear of a homophobic backlash.
The 36-year-old Female rapper came to fame on last years season 13 of X Factor, she explained that her close Family and Friends knew about her sexuality, but she wasn’t ready to share it with the world.
In her Sun interview she said:
“Being new to the music industry, and being on The X Factor, I think I was just a bit shy and a bit guarded.
“I was a bit worried about what people would think as well. I was just a bit worried about people maybe being homophobic. I wasn’t ready to come out to the public at that point.”
“I have been with men in the past. But after I had my second experience with a woman I decided that I wanted to be with women. I was in the process of kind of deciding if I was going to stay with the boyfriend that I had at the time.”
“I feel now is the right time to let everyone know that I’m gay,” she added.
The interview was released with a stripped down nude photo shoot for the big reveal.
