Former Westlife star Kian Egan is releasing a solo album – just like ex-bandmate Shane Filan.
The Voice of Ireland coach’s debut release will be coming out on St Patrick’s Day and includes a number of covers of his favourite tunes.
The 33-year-old is working with One Direction producer Brian Rawling on the project, which is expected to go to No1 after winning I’m A Celebrity.
He said: “It won’t be a million miles away from what I did with Westlife. The songs will be pop songs but a bit more rocky, good pop/rock songs!
Back in the day: Kian with Westlife before their split
“Music is my first love, and to be able to get in the studio to record these amazing songs by such wonderful writers is such a thrill and an honour for me.”
However Kian will find it tough to beat the sales of Westlife, who sold 50 million records over their 14 year career.
