One Direction have released a brand new video to mark the band’s 10 year anniversary.

10 Years of One Direction features a behind-the-scenes look at some of the band’s best moments, including tour footage and the making of music videos.

It also features snippets of never-before-seen interviews with the bandmates – as they discuss their journey to becoming the biggest boyband in the world.

Today marks a decade since the popular boyband was formed on The X Factor, and their devoted fans have been celebrating the day by reliving some of their best moments using the #10YearsOfOneDirection.

Alongside the tribute video, a special ‘10 Years of One Direction’ website will launch today (July 23rd), which will be an immersive and exciting interactive fan experience.

The site will take the form of a timeline charting the history of the group, from the first audition right up to the start of their hiatus.

It will also host an archive of music videos, artwork, TV performances, behind-the-scenes and rarely-seen content, all in one place.

Fans will also be able to generate their own shareable ‘mixtape’ playlist on the site, which will be personalised according to how they’ve interacted with the site’s content and the eras they’ve spent the most time exploring.

It will also allow fans to connect to Spotify or Apple Music, with the mixtape playlists being saved to their respective accounts.

Reformatted EPs will also be released across streaming platforms, featuring b-sides and rare songs, remixes, live recordings and acoustic versions of tracks grouped into one place for fans to rediscover.

There will also be exciting activations across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and other platforms, including creating and updating One Direction playlists, whilst Amazon’s Alexa will be singing Happy Birthday to the band.

The news comes after One Direction sparked rumours they were set to reunite for their 10th anniversary.

Rumours started swirling back in March, when bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson re-followed ex member Zayn Malik.

Zayn famously quit the band back in 2015, and severed ties with all four of his bandmates.

One year later, One Direction went on “hiatus”, and all members have since launched their own solo careers.

Earlier today, Harry Styles said he feels “forever grateful” for the band’s success in a touching tribute posted on Instagram.

Niall and Louis also shared heartfelt tributes on social media, and Liam shared a text he sent his father ten years ago today – after being placed in the band on The X Factor back in 2010.
