U2's Adam Clayton is writing to every school in Ireland in mental health awareness bid

U2 star Adam Clayton has wrote to every school in the country in a bid to help kids with mental health issues.

The bassist is pleading for vulnerable children and teenagers to get the attention they require – urging schools to promote World Mental Health Day.

“I think we have a duty to care about anyone who is young and troubled. We have to be able to recognise the warning signs and try to respond to them, not only with sympathy but with seriousness,” he said.

The star is also encouraging people to take part in the Walk In My Shoes campaign which takes place all across Ireland.

“Walk In My Shoes is a nationwide awareness and fundraising initiative of St Patrick’s Mental Health Foundation,” he said.

“It aims to change the lives of vulnerable young adults in Ireland by providing them with mental health services and support.”

Adam’s efforts in promoting mental health comes in the wake of World Mental Health Day – which takes place this Friday.
