U2 guitarist The Edge faces battle with neighbours – as he fights for new mansions

U2 star The Edge could have a protest on his hands – as he pushes ahead with plans to build a five mansion complex.

The famous guitarist is trying to build the properties on the Californian coast but still hasn’t got permission from locals.

The musician, real name David Evans, has been trying to build the mansions for the last eight years, which includes building on a 156 acre site.

The properties will have amazing views of the Pacific Ocean, and would be owned by the guitarist and  his wife, Morleigh Steinberg.

Plans: The Edge’s neighbours don’t want the new mansions

The Coastal Commission of California turned down the original application in 2011.

But according to the Herald it is understood the plans have started again with a new ruling to be determined in January 2015.
