Taylor Swift makes Billboard Music Awards history as most decorated artist

Taylor Swift has made Billboard Music Awards history as the most decorated artist.

The singer scooped up 10 awards, which included Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for The Tortured Poets Department.

These wins brought her total haul to forty nine, followed by Drake with 42 wins.


Drake and Taylor were previously tied on the leaderboard with 39 wins each.

In her prerecorded acceptance speech, Taylor said: “This is, like, the nicest early birthday present you could have given me, so thank you very much.”

“I love it. It’s exactly what I wanted.”

Charli XCX

The award ceremony saw big wins for stars like Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Charli XCX.

Charli XCX brought home awards for top dance electronic artist and top dance electronic album for Brat.

In a pre-recorded video, Dua Lipa stated that winning the top dance electronic song award for the song Houdini “means the world to me.”

Due to her Radical Optimism tour in Asia, the pop sensation expressed regret for being unable to attend the ceremony.

After calling the prize “so cool,” she thanked the audience for “dancing with me to Houdini” and said, “Let’s keep dancing.”

Aside from Drake, who won top rap artist, top rap male artist, and top rap album For All The Dogs, Doja Cat won top rap female artist, while Kendrick Lamar won top rap single for Not Like Us.
