Sharon Osbourne feared U2 were going to publicly attack her after foul-mouthed band rant

Sharon Osbourne has told how she was left red-faced by U2 – weeks after launching a foul-mouthed attack on the band.

The former X Factor judge branded the Irish group as “mediocre” and “megalomaniacs” after their decision to release their album online free through iTunes.

And, as Goss.ie previously reported, Sharon finished her rant off by telling the band: “F**k you.”

But Sharon has now revealed that two weeks after her rant, she was left shocked when U2 came towards her at the MTV Awards.

She said: “I’m like, Oh, no. Here it goes. They are going to lay into me.’ And they were so lovely. They hugged and kissed me. They hugged Ozzy.

“And then when Ozzy finished doing his part of the show, he went back to the dressing room, and they’d all written him a letter and they’d all signed it. What a classy act!”
