Shane Filan has thanked Louis Walsh for helping him through his money troubles.
The Westlife singer was declared bankrupt in 2012 – owing around €23 million. And despite struggling to pay the bills, Shane said Louis kept him positive.
“Louis was a friend. Louis and I are very close. He is kind of a father figure to me, to be honest,” Shane said.
“He still manages me in my solo career. He was a manager but he was also a very positive person.”

“You know the way Louis is. You’d have lunch with him and he says ‘Oh it could be worse!
If you lose your voice, then you’re f **ked!’”
“‘You’ve lost your money — we’ll make more money when you sing songs!’,” Shane told the Sunday Independent.
