Security guards from Dua Lipa’s Shanghai concert detained by police

Security guards from Dua Lipa’s Shanghai concert have been detained by police.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding the singer’s gig in Shanghai last week after a number of fans were reportedly forcibly removed from the concert.

Videos of fans being removed from the gig circulated online and caused outrage across the world.

During the gig the 23-year-old was brought to tears as she told fans that she wanted them all to enjoy the concert and wanted it to be a safe environment for everyone.

The singer released a statement following the incidents and told fans: “What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved.”

Some fans were reportedly removed because they waved rainbow flags at the concert and in Dua’s statement she said: “I would love to come back for my fans when the time is right and hopefully see a room full of rainbows.”

After the brutal videos of security guards pulling fans off their seats were watched by thousands online, Qingpu Police detained two of the guards.

According to Mail Online a 20-year-old called Zhu and a 22-year-old named Nai have been given a 10-day detention sentence following their alleged actions of beating fans during the concert.
