The Script are celebrating after making a massive €2.6 million last year – as they continue to become rock star royalty.

The Dubliners played to almost 300,000 fans at a series of concerts last year – with the 97th top-grossing tour worldwide.

Now new accounts show they have a cash pile at their two firms of €3.4 million, which will only go up when they play Croke Park next year.

They will become only the third ever Irish band to play the stadium, after U2 and Westlife.

New album: Danny and the band will pull in even more cash next year

Last year, The Script made €11.1 million at the box office, from the 28 concerts they played – including three sold-out dates at the Dublin O2.

More money will also come flying in this year from the release of new album No Sound Without Silence.

However, the Script do not have to give details of how much of the €3.4 million was paid out to Danny O’Donoghue and the other lads.

Recently, they were dubbed heroes after jumping in to help a woman who nearly died in a motorway crash.
