Nicky Byrne has revealed that he’s set to break out as a solo star – by having a track featured in a movie.
The former Westlife star has been secretly recording his own album, to follow in the footsteps of bandmates Kian Egan and Shane Filan.
And Nicky – who has now recorded seven tracks – is in the running to get one song into a big-budget film.
He said: “I’ve recorded the first seven tracks of my first solo album. There’s a chance one of them will be used in an upcoming movie, which is exciting.”

And Nicky, who is now working on 2FM, revealed he’s considering doing more reality TV following on from Strictly.
“Luckily, it has been busy since the band ended. I’m grateful for that,” he told the Sunday World magazine.
“The offers of work have not stopped coming in, and while I turn a lot of wacky reality TV shows down, I do think I need to consider doing some of these things.
New life: Nicky is loving his role on 2FM
“I heard Roy Keane say a few weeks back that you can’t turn down every job offer forever, but after doing Strictly after the band ended, I decided that’ll be it for me and reality shows.
“I’ve done the biggest of those shows, so I’ll leave it at that. When the chance to do a primetime RTE radio slot came up, I jumped at it.
“Ours is the kind of fast-paced show that I’d listen to in the middle of the day – and the reaction has been fantastic. I’m loving doing it.”
